STAAR Night

Brooks-Quinn-Jones Elementary third- and fourth-grade students and parents were invited to campus for an evening of learning, enrichment, and dinner.

BQJ faculty and staff hosted STAAR Night on April 7. Parents went to the school’s multipurpose room while students were escorted to the school gymnasium for recreational activities. Teachers handed sample questions from the STAAR test to parents to review and complete.

After a welcome from BQJ Principal Tom Miller, parents were then split into four different groups, depending on their child’s grade level and the parents’ language. Teachers held a workshop with each group of parents. Together, they reviewed strategies and shared ideas on how to help their children improve academically.

The evening ended with a spaghetti dinner served by BQJ teachers.
